WHAT ARE WE GOING TO?

"What we sow is what we reap", says the saying. It is no different even with vineyards. Therefore, our mission is to help you, the winegrowers, to improve the condition of your vineyard by using advanced geoinformation technologies that see the invisible.

The story of Precision Vineyards

Experiences from field visits to vineyards, geodetic measurements, physical-geographical knowledge and geo-information competences led to the creation of something new. To something that provides rich information to the winegrower. When we talk about precision viticulture as a farming method, we are talking about more efficient, cheaper and more environmentally friendly vineyard management.

The story of Precision Vineyards is created byStefan Velkov, graduate geographer (UNI), future master of geography in the field of environmental and physical geography and applied geoinformatics.

What are we doing?

In vineyards, we use drones and geographic information systems to study problems with water flow, detect erosion hotspots and areas of excessive water stagnation, study the foliage and greenness of the vineyard and look for reasons for negative deviations. We also monitor the growth of vines and look for deviations, both during the vegetation cycle and between years. We also produce 3D models of plots, which are most useful especially in land reclamation planning and three-dimensional terrain visualization. At your request, we also carry out other analyses, photos or high-resolution aerial videos.

Since vineyards are permanent plantations in the true sense of the word, we strive to improve some of their growing conditions, as they have been with us for 20 years or more. The useful information solutions we offer you are therefore long-term. They bring new dimensions of knowledge, reduce operating costs and significantly affect the quantity and quality of the crop.
